Weird, Not So Weird Korean superstition you should know.

It’s known as “fan death.”
Back in the 80s in Korea, a myth was going around if you sleep with a fan on, you could die from CO2.
Idea behind is few people died from hypothermia but people believed it was because of exposure to carbon dioxide that was created from running a fan for a long period of time (overnight).

There’s also a rumor that Korean government spread and started “fan death” superstition so the electricity would get lowered. 😅

It is confirmed that this superstition is false yet older Korean generation still believe in fan death. Some folks REFUSE to sleep with fan even in the summer!
